Priority Paving is superior in every aspect: They did outstanding work on a complex paving job where correct grading was crucial to proper drainage and not easy to achieve. We had a great experience with Justin and his crew!! These guys are pros! They were HONEST and reliable and did great work. We had over-paid by accident and Justin came back to let us know. They also went above and beyond and took out a basketball hoop last minute.
Super efficient, quality work, reliable, went above the scope of the job and just good people! We couldn't ask for more or a better experience.
Being a real estate professional, I'm always looking for GOOD contractors I can refer to my past and current clients and these professionals just went to the top of the list for paving needs!!
Frequent Asked Questions
How long will the installation take, and how long will it take to cure?
While most paving jobs are completed in a single day, the duration can vary depending on the specific requirements of each driveway. For a precise answer regarding your project's timeline, we recommend scheduling a free, in-person estimate. Please note that new pavement requires at least one year to fully cure, and it may soften during hot weather.
What is the difference between a basecoat and top coat?
A Priority driveway is paved in two distinct steps:
1. Binder Coarse (Base Coat): This first layer serves as the foundation. It is made of a larger aggregate, typically 3/4-inch and smaller, which gives it a coarser, rock-heavy appearance. Priority Paving ensures this base coat is 2 inches thick after being rolled and compacted.
2. Surface Coarse (Top Coat): This is the final layer. It uses a much finer aggregate, 3/8-inch and smaller, to create a smooth, watertight finish for your driveway. Priority Paving's surface coarse is 1 inch thick after rolling and tamping.
How long do I have to keep off my drivway after it is installed?
Binder- Vehicles should stay off the driveway for a minimum of 3 days.
Surface- Vehicles should stay off the driveway for a minimum of 5 days.
What causes the most damage to driveways?
NEW INSTALLATIONS
Heavy trucks and equipment
WARNING: To prevent damage, DO NOT place sharp or pointed items on your pavement, as they can puncture or scuff the surface. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Motorcycle or bicycle kickstands
-
Lawn chairs
-
Grills
-
Trailer hitches
-
Jacks
-
Ladders
Be aware that your pavement may soften in hot temperatures, regardless of its age.
Should I sealcoat my driveway?
We advise applying a seal coat one year after the surface coat has been installed. Following that, we recommend re-applying every two to three years.
